Tom Miller

The St James Jr Canucks express great sadness and heavy hearts to hear of the passing of beloved past president Tom Miller at the age of 85. Mr. Miller was president of the Jr Canucks for 37 years. His work in hockey over the years has had a profound impact on thousands of hockey players in St James. He was known in St James as “Mr Hockey” and he was very passionate about the Jr Canucks and the MMJHL.

President Justin Steeves on behalf of the Jr Canucks organization: “This past Friday we received the devastating news of Tom’s passing. We were all shocked and extremely saddened. If it weren’t for Tom we wouldn’t be where we are today. He turned the Jr Canucks into a very special organization. He shaped many young men and had a profound impact on my hockey path as well as many others. Tom cared deeply about the players and was extremely loyal to these St James athletes. The value of loyalty is one that we try to carry with us in our organization today. Even after Tom stepped down as president, he has always been there to lend a helping hand behind the scenes. We love Tom and will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace”.

Tom Miller’s Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, February 8th, 2:00 PM at Canad Inns Polo Park
