Canucks report – Week In Review, Thursday December 10th

Canucks News and Notes
The Canucks went 1-2 this past week. They started out last Tuesday defeating the Twins 5-2 and then dropped a tough decision to the Vics 4-2 on Thursday and lost 5-3 to the Royal Knights this past Sunday at the Civic Centre. The Canucks have now dropped
5 of their last 6 games but 4 of those losses have only been by 1 goal (excluding empty netters). The Canucks have allowed an average of 5 goals against over the past 5 games.

Surging PK?
Althought the Canucks rank last in the league in Penalty kill, the team has gone 89% on the kill over their past 5 games.

Line-O-Mite
The line of Lockhart, Hill and Stire have been on fire over the past 5 games. The line has combined for 18 points over that span (Lockhart 7, Stire 6, Hill 5). Mitch Lockhart’s 6 game goal scoring streak came to an end against the Vics, but he started up
a new streak with a goal against the Knights on Sunday. Congratulations to Nick Stire who was named the MMJHL”s player of the month.

Game over after 1st Goal?
The Canucks are an impressive 12-0-1 when scoring the games first goal. However, they are 0-10 when their opponents score the first goal. The team is good at holding leads as the Nucks are 11-0-1 when leading after 2 periods. On the flip side they are
0-9 when trailing after 2 periods.

New Addition
The Canucks welcomed Jarrett Lynam to the team. The former Raider was released last week and signed with the Canucks Wednesday night. The Canucks are hopeful Lynam will add some depth, stability and playoff experience to the defense core.
