Community Club Night

On Friday January 26th, the St James Jr Canucks celebrated community club night. Over 300 hockey players from St James minor and a total crowd of approximately 700 fans took in an exciting hockey game between the two top teams in the MMJHL. Unfortunately, the Jr Canucks came up short in a 4-3 loss but were amazed to see the support from the community. “I don’t know who had the bigger smiles, the players or the kids” team President Justin Steeves said after observing the mob of young players waiting to greet the team as they came out to the ice. “We make it a priority for our players to help out at community events throughout the season and to receive the support we had last night was special.”

The night kicked off with honorary guests from the U13 AA Canadians team captains Levi Wyatt and Benny Johnson. And our guest of honour was former captain and 2022 MMJHL champion Mack Whitely. This was followed by a tribute and moment of silence for Past President Tom Miller.

Congratulations to the 50/50 winner Dave Livingston who took home $1000!
